Fagan Votes to Make Your Child’s Personal Info Public.
Today, HB 2988 passed the house, automatically registering children to vote when they receive their driver’s license. Although they won’t be allowed to vote until they are 18, they won’t have to go to the trouble of registering.
But what happens before they turn 18? All their private information will be public record, accessible by anyone who makes the request for it.
Republicans issued a minority report, which would have shielded your children’s personal information from public record, but Fagan voted against it. Makes sense, given Fagan is supported heavily by the Bus Project, the left-wing political advocacy group that buses children from downtown Portland into the suburbs to canvass door-to-door for liberal candidates.
If this were really about registering more voters, they would have adopted the minority report to shield your children’s information from aggressive political campaign groups. But instead, Shemia Fagan is putting her political ambition above your child’s safety and anonymity – by opening up a whole new market to indenture influential young people to her campaigns. Which is what we’ve come to expect from Shemia Fagan.
